In this blog we are going to take you through a typical job from the quoting process all the way through to delivery. It should give you a good idea of what to expect when you call us, and the level of service that we offer.
It all starts with a call or email to one of our expert sales team. We get calls for all types of designs, so you can rest assured that we have produced a steel product just like yours at some point, even if it is a little more complicated than the standard box frame.
When we take your call, we will likely ask you for any measurements and dimensions you may have. We rarely get a customer call who knows exactly what they want – our customers are often builders after all and the reality on site is that the dimensions drawn up by an architect six months before don’t always match what you get once you start tearing down walls!
Our sales team can help by providing drawings and CAD to help work out exactly what you are going to need, right down to the centimetre. We will get a quote back to you as soon as we can, and ask you to confirm that you are happy with the dimensions and sizes of the steel that needs to be produced for you.
We take great pride in being completely open about our prices. Where some companies will provide you a quote with grouped items, or even worse a simple price on a piece of paper, we provide a comprehensive break-down of every item, size and weight that you will be ordering. That means if there are any changes to your order, it will be very clear what charges are associated with that change.
You can see an example of one of our itemised quotes on this page. Take a look and compare this to some of the other quotes you have had recently – I’m sure you will agree that it would be hard to provide a more transparent quotation!
Once you accept the quote and ask us to proceed, we can usually get the final product produced and delivered within a matter of days. You should note that we do require full payment of our invoices before we deliver your steel.
Your steel is fabricated by our highly skilled team at our Raynes Park factory and delivered on one of our fleet of trucks specially designed to deliver heavy goods. You can see a steel beam being delivered to a property as part of a loft conversion job on this page. Not every company out there will be able to offer a crane to lift your steel right in to place, instead of trying to haul it into position yourself.
We really look forward to hearing from new customers and hope that you will consider us for your steel requirements in future.
